Advice on Size of Ensuite

My ensuite is 2.2 x 1.4 with a 1400x800 shower along one of the short walls and it feels nice and spacious for an ensuite, so I'd say 1.4m internal, which leaves 4.5m for your bedroom, with a 0.1m stud wall in-between. 100sqft is the minimum for a double bedroom, which you'll just about reach.
Agreed on this. I made one that's 1.3 internal with 1.3 X 0.9 shower tray at one end and it's great. It is 3.3m long but you should be ok at 2.2m long, especially if you go for 1.4m internal

This is mine during reno (in projects) The floor area is a tad over 4 sq m. We have a deep bath, shower over; vanity unit with 2 sinks; and a loo. It's about how you use the space really.

Basically 2.2m gives plenty of options for the ensuite. Fitting the bed in will be a different story...

We've never had an "ensuite" and never will. Toilet noises in the bedroom aren't my thing.

What's the french word for "ensuite"? They don't recognise this word at all, it's an English poshification using pretend French.

People used to have the wc on its own, it was regarded as unhygienic to have a toilet in the same room as a bath or even a basin.

Don't forget the aromas! Not my thing either, that said I do find the Idea of Mrs Mercury having her own bathroom so she can keep all her crap in there, quite attractive then I could hog the main bathroom and keep it clutter free. But who am I kidding she'd soon fill up the main bathroom with all her crap too.
