However the top right figure in that table is pretty encouraging. 69 years for a cable that is at full load for 8 hours every day (how many cables are run at exactly full load? and of those how many are run for anywhere near 8 hours a day?)

Would be a nasty electricity bill.

I've done the calculations for more sensible cable temperatures. If run at 24 hours per day..

20C = 40000 years (usual house temperature, most cable will be here)
30C = 7500 years
40C = 1500 years
50C = 350 years

All good fun, doubt they mirror real life, we will never know.
 
Knew it was a council house - they often seemed to fit consumer units with an RCD controlling all of it. :D

I reckon between 1982 and 1987 as well.
