Air Source Heat Pump Planning

Went through planning, adv concern re noise, and after advice from the council the final plans were a few meters further down the fence and approved. Fast forward, it’s been put in, and now when it’s on its 55dB at bedroom window. (On phone app) it sounds loud, but can’t hear through double glazing. Dilemma is, is it worth complaining about as in summer when window is open, it wont be running.

Crazy Ed and his push for net zero is going to bring in new [relaxed] rules for siting of heat pumps which means that lots more of us will be heading lots more of them in the coming years.

You'll need to investigate whether the installation has breach the planning approval or any conditions - check the supplied information to support the application was accurate.

Otherwise, you'll need to claim under public or private nuisance law. But do it quick before the new standards come into force.
