Airplane safety

A friend of mine designed the wings on that plane, seems he done gud

Designed them? or worked at Broughton in North Wales where they where made?

Yup he worked there as a designer for the wings. Had a nice holiday across Europe with him.

The missus' dad works there, he was brought in from another company to lead the design team on the wings. He had a lot to do with the design of the A380 freighter wings, something to do with the wings needing a different structure and strength as the passenger model

What a complete arse post to make; A380 isn't a freight plane, so what you talk is nonsense. If you have nothing to say or add, then don't comment. Don't add for no reason. You will be found out, just in your effort to slag someone off, to make yourself look good.

Micky, you're an idiot. The A380-800F project is currently suspended, but does exist. And it does, indeed, have a modified wing.

I'm talking about the currently one suspended, not some concept in your brain? Therefore you are an idiot, as you ignored the thread topic, and started a new discussion, without anyone knowing about this new project?

You talk about something suspended, and not in production, and call me an idiot, when the discussion is a production model, who's the idiot?

Go away.

No wonder people on here call you!....the A380-800 is the freight version of the A380, also known as the A380F.....they built and designed the wings for them at Broughton and Filton. Some of the main freight carriers in the world cancelled their orders for the plane so I beleive only a handfull where ever made, or designed.

I commented because I had something to say on the topic, unlike yourself who makes up little stories about how your friend designed the wings for it.....he worked on production if anything. I happen to know someone who has an important role at EADS and you dont like it....grow up!

Starting to believe eveything Joe-90 writes about you now

So people happen to believe a person that isn't involved in the industry, to someone that is?

Forums huh?

Joe 90 obviously know more than I do, as I personally know the person, that did the design, and went on an Euro trip with him, and his brother...Joe 90 is obviously, the expert.

two planes one where the passengers have been checked and the other one where no checks have been carried out and allow people to choose which plane they would rather fly on.

I say again the A380, as you admit, isn't a freight plane, but another model called something else is. the A380F-800. You don't know my friend that works there as a wing designer, so how is that a 'story'? You 'know' someone that works in design, so do I, why query me on that? Are you saying one person designs them on their own? I don't understand the issue you have?

A380 refers to a series of aircraft, not a specific type. The A380-800F is part of the A380 series. So is the A380-800, which is a passenger aircraft. Also upcoming is the A380-900, and an improved version of the A380-800.

Firstly, I dont have an issue....I just prefer people to get their facts right before they try and criticise someone and accuse them of making up some story, its ignorant.

You mentioned you knew someone who worked there, I responded because I myself know someone very well who is in charge of a design team at the same place.

I mentioned how they where employed to help in the design of the wing structure of the A380F (the same plane without the seating and a higher deck for cargo). The same plane with strength and structure differences as the A380, which if you read back is what I said, you said I was talking nonsense.

You said

So to sum up......There was a freight version of the A380 planned. I did add for a reason, I have not been found out of anything, I wasnt trying to slag anyone off and i'm certainly not in any way 'trying' to make myself look good.

Way I see it with all this security , it won't be long untill every one getting on a plane will be stripped searched , rubber gloves & lubricant & a torch as well , or may be due to cut backs no lube ?? than made to were those orange over alls & sandals for the duration of the flight !

Biggest problem I see is the knee jerk reactions. Already , we can't take bottles of liquid, scissors, anything sharp etc on planes. Now we can't take toner cartridges (connected to a mobile phone ) onboard aircraft ;) ;) ;) ;)
FFS what next?? A terrorist gets on board wearing clothing pre soaked in some untraceable explosive mixture???? We all have to board the planes naked??
Roll on next time I'm off to Ibiza,,, Hope I get a seat between two blondes ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Naked will not do it ?? think how they smuggle drugs ?? ;) It will not be long before somw terrorist has a bomb inlplanted surgically !!

Way I see it at the very least passengers will have to start touching there toes behind the curtains whilst some security person takes a look !

might even have to use those surgical cameras ;)

Knowing your luck it will be between two strapping blonde blokes from Norway!
