Alarm Power Circuit

If a Alarm has has a transformer plug, to be able to have it on it's own circuit, can I do a radial circuit from the CCU to a single gang socket outlet in 2.5mm T+E

And what size MCB should I put it on a 6Amp one or a 16Amp one

6 amp would give about 1 and a qarter kilowatts

16 amp would give about 3 kilowatts

How big is the transformer ?

6 amps is the logical answer if nothing else is being powered on that radial

On the other hand, if it's a socket circuit in 2.5mm, you could reasonably give it a 16A or 20A MCB on the grounds that the plug itself is appropriately fused. That way you can use the socket for something else when the fancy takes you. Or you could fit an FCU when you buy a proper alarm.

It is a proper wired alarm with outside sounder, & PIRs inside the house.

Yes it does have a tranformer plug

If it's a plug in alarm then it's not what we'd call a proper alarm. Proper alarm are wired to an unswitched non indicating fcu as per regs. My guess it's a toys r us system from B and Q or the like.
