alarms and noise pollution

On the side of no one in particular there are many alarms of different makes / manufacturers / installers that have a conformation beep from the 'bell box'.

This used to be inside the premises, problem being that people would never wait to hear the conformation beep so they did not know if the system had set or not.

Along came the beep from the bell box, problem solved, unless hard of hearing then they have to look at the strobe/light - or not
