Were these patients who contracted covid in hospital or where they patients who were hospitalised due to covid? I can imagine dealing with covid on top of your other problems would be an impact and I can imagine a certain "type" of person who would be less able to fight covid and end up in hospital.

I'd expect the study to be corrected for age and other characteristics. Does it say that somewhere?

"Clinical baseline characteristics are shown in Table 1. Overall, there were several differences between the COVID-19 and control cohorts. Patients in the COVID-19 cohort were older, predominantly men, with a higher frequency of comorbidities, including classical cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular diseases (CVD), and had a lower rate of independent FHS than those in the control cohort. In contrast, patients in the control cohort were more frequently active smokers and had a previous history of active or past cancer than those in the COVID-19 cohort."

Hang on that is due to catching covid and being a patient, Bridgen has been rabbiting on about the jab effects having been videoed having his own in the past.

Rather lopsided cohorts as well
A total of 4,427 patients were included: 3,578 (80.8%) in the COVID-19 and 849 (19.2%) control cohorts.

People picked on this basis
This was an international, multicenter, retrospective cohort study conducted between February and December 2020. Consecutive patients ≥18 years who underwent a real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for SARS-CoV2 were included. Patients were classified into two cohorts depending on the nasopharyngeal swab result and clinical status: confirmed COVID-19 (positive RT-PCR) and control (without suggestive symptoms and negative RT-PCR)

Suppose that the negative test people didn't subsequently catch it during the 12 months needed to get the results noted? Patients might relate to people who were just tested but not sure where that form of test is routinely done.

Hmmm. I’m not sure if I think that damages the findings or not. It doesn’t feel like a good baseline.

It’s hard to say if it’s cause or effect.

My gut feel from knowing people who had it hard, is that it did seem to leave lasting damage.

The man doth protest to much with his shutting down debate. Perhaps he feels the wagons that are circling are getting to close for comfort.
Put him in the choky.

Does give the figures for how many of these were vaccinated and how many were not

"In the CV-COVID-19 registry, most patients (~87%) were vaccinated with the BNT162b2 (BioNTech-Pfizer) and mRNA-1273 (Moderna) vaccines, which have not been related to vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT). Only 44 (~2%) patients in the registry were vaccinated with ChAdOx1-S (Oxford–AstraZeneca), which has been related to VITT. Considering that the average risk of these events is approximately 1 in 263,000 recipients, we believe that the occurrence of vaccine-related events (i.e., thrombotic events) in this cohort was unlikely."

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (TTP) is a rare disorder of the blood coagulation system and is considered a true medical emergency. TTP is characterised into acquired (idiopathic) and congenital (familial) and affects 4-6 people per million, affecting women more than men with a peak incidence in your forties.

ie - the 1 in 263,000 not different to normality. All ages can get it.

The report suggests that catching covid can lead to long term unfortunate effects, It can certainly cause certain thing said to be caused by the vaccine but all meaningless without normal rates,

Has been blah blah blah...
Andrew Bridgen is that rare thing, a principled politician. He has been suspended from the Conservative Party for actually being conservative.

Bridgen has been rabbiting on about the jab effects having been videoed having his own in the past.
Yes, he did have the jab and was one of MPs who pushed through the covid measures but like many of the population he subsequently saw through the lies. We need more politicians like him; on any other matter you would be praising him for being anti-Tory.

Why was he suspended from the party?

Mostly because he couldn't back up his comments with facts.

But let's not worry about facts too much huh ?
