Another Brexit cost...

Really? I can't recall ever seeing the stuff about brexit that is in the news now that was warned about back then.

not even that "£350 million a week for the NHS" was a lie?

not that the UK financial services sector is bigger than the manufacturing sector, and to do business in the EU you need to be in the EU?

not that the car industry, for example, has invested in the UK because the UK is in the EU?

not that the NHS, for example, depends on foreign workers?

It was all out there for anyone who had the ability to see the bleeding obvious to understand!

And I'd rather blame the government myself, than sneer at those people who voted leave. The government are responsible for this mess, they allowed a vote without giving people the truth.
The people who voted leave didn't blame the UK government (who caused the problems they were moaning about), but instead they blamed the EU who on the whole made their lives better!

And as for the 'truth', quitters always tell us they knew exactly what they were voting for

But as I've said before, it seems its not possible to stop quitter turkeys voting for their very own 'hell of a christmas'!

How about people just taking a bit more responsibility for their own health and not being such a burden?

Two guys on our site today. One is in his seventies and would make blokes in their forties look slow. His productivity is incredible.
The other late sixties, drinks and smokes heavily, coul done.. well nearly. Only works 4 days per week and spends every Friday in hospital.

Obviously not public sector workers. Who would have their feet up at that stage on a gold plated pension.
Both still contributing to the system which is a plus.

The bus lie came out after the vote did it not?

I can remember a whole lot of rubbish stuff from both sides, and forgotten a whole lot more. For example, in that government leaflet that we all got, I cannot remember it mentioning things like the NHS staff workers being foreign, or talking about the car industry, the NHS, or anything in detail. It was a general leaflet saying we'd be better in the EU.

Obviously I agree we are better in, but the point I am making is that the nitty gritty stuff is coming out now because we are now trying to negotiate. None of this was talked about in detail, it's fair to say that nobody could really say what would happen because nobody knew. I can't help but think if Cameron had waited for a EU ref until we were out of times of austerity, didn't have all the press about free movement (and the A8 countries given immediate access to the UK's workforce as well as all the Middle East immigration) then things may have been different and UKIP wouldn't have had the ammo in which to work with.

The government *ucked it up.

Had they considered the result possible, they would not have allowed it.
And it showed that they didn't consider it imo. The remain campaign was lacklustre, the timing was poor and the whole thing shouldn't have happened as the information wasn't there.

All police leave has been cancelled during March so as to deal with the breakdown of law and order
The army has probably been put on stand bye as it is doubtful that plod will be able to cope
Mass looting could be an issue

It's possible that the financial system will collapse
Food shortages will occur due to panic buying

petrol stations will have no petrol or diesel

I've just watched C4 news. I wished I hadn't. The world as we (the UK) know it will officially end if we endure a hard Brexit.

You're being over dramatic. Seen the tail end. 55,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
Makes brexit pale into insignificance.

no, they took it all round the country before the vote

I couldn't help noticing, when someone stuffed the Resigners leaflet through my letterbox yesterday, that it still includes the £350m claim (known to be untrue), the "spend it on the NHS" claim (known to be untrue), the "we'll have to bail out the Euro" claim (known to be untrue), the "Turkey's joining soon" claim (known to be untrue) and included logos from a set of multinationals, suggesting they were supporters of Brexit when they are not, and have previously demanded that the Resigners stop misrepresenting therm. It must be shameful to base your publicity campaign on a pack of lies, like the Outists do.

I'm often amused by anti-Europeans who appear to believe (or to want other ignorant folk to believe) that European laws are made by a bunch of alien goblins, and not by elected representatives from the member countries (of which the UK is one of the largest) and delegates from their governments.

Being obliged to follow the rules of the club, while not being a member, and having no influence on those rules, like Norway, is not an ideal option.

and you claim not to have seen it beforehand?

:eek:So let's get this straight

This red bus £350 million caper was all a porkie pie than
