Arctic ice melting - maybe not

We are all doomed, doomed I tell you.
I normally see the ozone story as a positive one, that action can make a difference at the global scale. It just requires commitment and effort. The '"we're all doomed" club aren't good at that.

Some of this green caper will be rolled back in the states or just dumped in particular in the automotive industry

Trump ;)

Petrol powered V8 muscle cars on the agenda (y)

That's nonsense. California still has the power to set its own standards and it, and associated states, have enough of the US market to make non compliant cars uneconomic. Trump tried to take it away but lost in court. They're only going to pile onto the green wave. The infrastructure investment into EV manufacturing isn't going away either.

Plus the wave of cheap EVs has just started. 2025 has been predicted as the tipping point where EVs become cheaper than petrol cars and that might be true.

When I was at school and in college, the environmental disaster du jour was the hole in the ozone layer which went onto miraculously heal itself.

As a youngster I was worried sick about this. At the time, we were told we were all going to fry as a result. Now, we are being told we are all going to drown.

When will man understand they are not the infinite wisdom.
You can argue all you like about the wisdom, but this is about the denial of facts

Nonsense yer self

The ford motor company lost a staggering
I
1.32 billion on its EV bussiness with each leccy car sold representing a loss of a 100 grand

Ford have scrapped plans for an all leccy 3 row large SUV as well as delaying the launch of its next battery leccy pack

General Motors is in a similar position

It is likely that Trump will eliminate government subsidies on EVs

California
Delaware
Mains
Maryland
Mass
Be jersey
New York
Oregon
Pencil
Vermont
Washington announced that would ban the sale of all new petrol and diesel cars by 2035

You do know that was the plan? Apart from the battery pack. When they announced it in 2022 they were expecting to be loss making until 2026.

They're building out their manufacturing lines, that costs money. You need to read beyond the initial headlines tranny.
