As JohnD and one or two others seem to have problems understanding how money hungry celebrities use all means to raise their flagging profile and popularity, other sources have also rightly seen through her cynical PR stunt. For the record (pun intended) she has an upcoming new album to promote - her first in several years.

you always seem to get these people with celebrity status lecturing or pontificating to the rest of us about this or that. If lily allan is ashamed of this countries attitude towards this caper in Calais what is stopping her dipping her hand in her pocket & paying for some of them to come here.

These lefty, or pretend lefty, 'celebrities' certainly can take hypocrisy to new lows. Think of the odious Geldof, a millionaire, telling ordinary people to hand over their 'fcking' money or insulting ordinary fishermen on the Thames before the Brexit referendum.

The Beeb has always been a safe haven for people like this hence why it attracts so many parasites and hangers on.. rats can smell a good thing, and what's better than working for a company that you know people think they have to pay for without any choice lol... I actually posted a comment on that BBC video telling people to cancel their licence but they pulled it.. all I can say is they must have to employ some ****s 24/7 to sit there modding the comments because the opposition to their sh1t is mounting and mounting.. and on that point censoring comments,is that something a publically funded company should be doing?? hhmm

Agree. The BBC has been a hot-bed of Trots and ex student union loons for quite a while. Know of two people who work for the BBC. One is so pc it beggars belief. The other is quite normal and his politics are right of centre, but he has to keep a lid on it and nod when attending the regular diversity or gender reassignment, or whatever workshops they are forced to attend.

A lot of people in government jobs have to sit through hours and hours of common purpose training, which is basically brainwashing. So yeah, must be grim.

My brother works for the local council and occasionally has to go on the same sort of diversity b0ll0x courses to have his grey matter rinsed now and again. When they first started, he couldn't believe how patronising the drivel was that he was expected to follow. He and a few others would play devils advocate to wind up whoever was taking the course. But as time goes on, and the older hands are replaced by younger employees, he finds that the younger ones take all this hogwash as gospel. Doesn't bode well for the future.

I don't care what celebs do what on a whole, but it did annoy me that Lily apologised on behalf of the whole of England. I hadn't realised she was spokesperson for everyone, I just thought she played tunes and had a funny (but scary) geezer dad.
Yup and they are cleverly engineered courses as well, built-in learning incentives etc etc, basically to make a dumb person feel clever and so justified in whatever action/agenda is on the cards.
What saddens me is that the progressive pushing of degenerate policy from the left has created such a backlash that you start seeing a rise in the neo/extremist right again, and we all know how that story goes. What I'm hoping to see is some sense from our leaders/officials and progressive move back to the centre, where government stays out of what it can't do right (almost everything), and just focuses on keeping the lights on and people in work. Funnel more money into emerging technology to counter the emerging energy crisis and start building partnerships with other countries. We don't want to be lapdogs/puppets for the US empire.
She's been picked because her sentiments mimic that of the BBC who have always seen themselves as some kind of moral compass for the rest of us. You're right to be ****ed off

Further development to Lily Allen story. Following her pathetic publicity stunt in Calais, a cab driver refused to pick her up. He was spot on when he told her 'find an immigrant to drive you, you stupid tart'.
If the dopey bint had called a minicab instead, she would have more than likely found one of her beloved immigrants at the wheel.
