Should only the MP's or the electorate have the vote on this?

I think that this should be subject to a referendum first.

Always found it strange that MPs are given a free vote on “moral” issues but whipped to within an inch of their life on economy damaging issues like brexhit.

Things like this are why we have MP's.

They get paid to (hopefully research and consult) make big decisions

Some people will agree, some won't .

I'm not a great fan of referendums. Too many people will vote by influence or opinion, without any relevant experience . Once you've seen a person (or more) suffer, a view can change. Not everybody has ever been in that position.

Mp's for me.

Surprising lack of voting and input in this

Personally I'd rather not leave this to our liar of an MP

The obvious question is why bother having MP's ?

Do you think the average voter has enough experience, knowledge and thought to be able to vote on something like this ? I don't think they do. Probably only 10 to 20 % have experienced enough to have a proper thoughtful view: either for, or against it.

Should be the people who decide. If I decide I fancy this as an option I'd want to vote for it or not as the case may be. If you were pro assisted dying why would you want to risk your MP voting the other way?
