The rules are going to be changed. There are reports of an odd murky aspect to the current ones. Different rules for those in power to those who are shadow.

Lots are also ignoring the obvious. Influence is gained from donations to the parties which are a hell of a lot more than Starmer got. Labour have commented on this in the past. It's essentially wrong and some other method of funding is needed. The only obvious other one is the state. Maybe a pool evenly split - bit of a joke.

Ali's personal campaign is sorted. In total he is also not that major a donor.
 
Party funding is entirely different. Frankly changing the "rules" after the fact is nonsense. Anyone should know that receiving gifts when you are in a position of power is corrupt practice. I would expect a lawyer to have a handle on this.

Nobody is talking about their plans for government everyone is talking about the double standards. What a numpty.
 
Johnson's register of interests were constantly monitored to try catch him out, whilst Starmer got away with his late registration of a donation without the article breaking until he'd rectified it... Starmer was literally trousering donations :LOL:

But it is the problem. So ok forget that if you like and stick to your arguments the reasons for which in your case are blindingly obvious. You now intimate don't change the rules to something clearer - are you mad? The rules have been met or haven't you noticed. If they hadn't you'd have nothing to post about. While you may not like it this is fact.

The interesting aspect is that Ali is a media man. That type is very interested in presentation. He will see it relating to getting Labour in power. He is also a campaigner in that general area other than thinking about presentation.
 
Ali is a red herring and labour are happy to keep that story on the front pages - lest something else takes its place. ;)
