Bame people

Poor beggars have only managed a space program without us babysitting them.

I am sure they built their Rockets, by standing on the shoulders of giants who went before.

Wernher von Braun who designed Saturn 5 (Apollo program ) and the V-2 rocket, which targeted London during the 2nd World War.

Hang on, wasn't he a Natzi.

Better stop all space programs, and pull down any Statues/memorials commemorating all such events.

Didn't Romans invent communal Toilets....

We all better stop using toilets. We were OK using the ditch before those Pesky Romans come and improved sanitation and sewers....

What did the Romans ever do for us...

They didn't need to occupy and rule to share their knowledge. Or do you think they did?

Would you please show me where I said that, or even implied it.

It was basically a lighthearted post based on recent events.

A lot of people forget how much money the British robbed from India.
How much money did Britain take away from India? About $45 trillion in 173 years, says top economist

LOL You never give up do you. Now explain to me what relevance this has to racism today. Just how will highlighting aspects like this help? It's clearly generated by some one with an axe to grind - no positives when there at.

While they were there the Uk introduced coffee and tea / sorted that out = jobs. Also provided a market for their products. Even opium. Not dissimilar to T-Shirts to Asia but some have moved on from that but it got them started but they were being ripped off in all sorts of ways for years

I think you'll find that India provided the largest voluntary army ever formed for WWII . Why on earth would they do that? We're a terrible lot.

Currently a few Indians are getting very rich - at the expense of the others. What's new?

What might do something about one aspect of racism was on TV a couple of nights ago. 10mins of My First Time. Many BAME people mentioning their first instance of racism. One was interesting. Locked in a shed or something and left there with a sign on it saying "Slave for Sale £1". Maybe a history lesson kicked that off. Some sort of arrangement of this but an advertising campaign done the right way might do something about this aspect by letting people know that it is hurtful. It's nothing new. I did know someone who's ears stuck out that was called wing nut. Some people become victims of this sort of thing and from bullies and groups of them.

USA - UK. Look at a bit of USA history such as many many Black Americans moving north from the south. Try this for instance

An old friend from schooldays had stickyout ears, not bad and certainly not bad enough for anyone to take the mickey, or not that I heard. He was obviously very conscious of it though because when I bumped into him quite a few years later he told me he paid a couple of grand to have surgery to pin his ears back. Whenever we saw him after that we'd sing the Simply Red song 'holding back the years'.:D

What's up, don't you like the real history? You just want the whitewashed version? The version that shows UK as a shining example to the world. You've been duped.

Now explain to me what relevance this has to racism today.
Who mentioned racism? I was responding to vinty who appeared to think that UK gave more to India than it took. Perhaps he wanted the varnished version of history as well?

Just how will highlighting aspects like this help?
Help with what? Hopefully it'll make some realise how UK was parasitic on its colonies.

It's clearly generated by some one with an axe to grind -
You think the whitewashed version was created for altruistic motives? Sucker!.

I've no interest in anything other than facts - complete ones not things that can only be guessed churned up by some one with an axe to grind. You seem to love them so who is the sucker and also what on earth is the point in dragging up stuff like that even if it is fact. Which in this case very clearly isn't the full facts.

Actually I probably know more about the UK's exploitation now and in the past than you do. History interests me.

Well.imho the UK is a shining example to. The world

Makes be proud to be British

Well 50 % British any way
