Another headline from the evening standard makes it sound like they were all TR people when 2 of them were actually counter protesters
Counter protests?? Why were they not on the main news site if the BBC are so biased?

The bbc have shifted to the right since brexhit, but generally seeks balance in its reporting. If anything itv and channel4 are more to the left. Contrast gee bee news which is openly biased to the hard right, sometimes the far right. Starmy should be getting off-com on their case/

Then you must be in agreement that the BBC are either biased, or to be fairer, not thorough in their news reporting.

In which case you are just adding weight to the OP's original point.
Do you have a better source for general news?

Broadly correct except BBC are not right leaning. The only way to get a real picture is to use a wide selection of news outlets and independents.

Which means the BBC is as good as any other site for general news.

Right wingers say it's left leaning. Left wingers say its right leaning. Which means it's fairly central.

Nobody has come up with a better general source.

The BBC is very widely used across the political spectrum. It is the most popular source of news among both Conservative and Labour voters, and among both Leave and Remain voters. Similarly, the UK’s independent communications regulator Ofcom has found that large majorities of audiences in the UK value public service media providers like the BBC very highly for providing trustworthy news programmes that help people understand what is going on in the world.

Though the BBC is slightly less trusted by people who identify with the political right than by people in the centre and on the left, it is still as trusted on the right as major conservative newspapers.
