Best wireless Alarm?

Visonic Powermax I mean.

I ignored this alarm as in the boiler world there's probably not one boiler I dislike more than the Powermax haha.

Pyronix enforcer is smaller than the powermax and easier to program than the powermax.
My choice would be enforcer as programming is easier to understand than the terminology of the powermax.

Sounds good. Sorry for all the questions. Can you buy a separate smaller keypad for the Pyronix enforcer so I could mount the main larger unit in the airing cupboard?

Yes
You can have extra keypads. The hard wired keypad has a lcd display the same as the control panel.
They also now do a wireless keypad, but this is not lcd. This keypad is new, have not fitted on yet.

Ok firstly the alarm you have looked at is basically an alarm by Response Electronics called the mi guard G5....I'm afraid it's chonglish junk rebranded all posh and pukka - stay away!

Having fitted all alarms mentioned the ricochet is far too complex so it's a toss up between enforcer or power max ....in my opinion both are excellent and can be fitted by a competent diy-er. We have nearly 1000 units in the Bristol area and our emergency call out is less than 1% a year for genuine faults.

You can buy keypad for powermax and very recently pyronix released a wireless keypad for the enforcer however you need to be very careful that you buy model with 952 revision f/w otherwise panel will not recognise keypad as I found out last week to my expense/ frustration.

To conclude you'll not go wrong with either pyronix or visonic.

Let us know what you decide....Matt:whistle:

Awesome stuff cheers Matt.

And it's fairly easy to pair up? Also usable with an app over the Internet? Just checking I'm buying the right stuff!

Thanks again.

Yes that's correct but the kit you have chosen is the latest "app" orientated alarm......we normally on fit the pstn or gsm variant kits.....you are looking at the latest. I think you will also need to select comms module which can be lan, wifi or gprs as an extra....

Maybe sparky Mark has fitted the home app version and can tell you more...I have not doubt it's a good choice,
Matt

No....more trouble than they are worth ! Inc Texecom, neither are 100% reliable rather say no than have all the aggro when they stop working !

What's the best?

Best is pretty much irrelevant if its badly installed.

Think you should be asking what should I avoid and why?

Once you have the spec clear, then you need to get opinions on programming from various different people ideally those with a similar background and understanding that's done a similar system.

Everyone in the trade has there favourites for different reasons.

A bit like boilers. We all have our favourites. I'm basically after a wireless that's not too tricky on the programming and better than a Yale!!

Think I'm decided on the pyronix enforcer.

Once I've got the keys to the house and the alarm fitted I'll report back.

Thanks for the advise everyone!

The pyronix is a reasonable/good choice 2-way, as for tricky programing think many find it easier than Texecom, probably because they don't fiddle around as much.
