Council and Mayoral
"all that matters" eh, lol.
The only Mayor I have ever taken any notice of (news wise), and has any real clout, is the London Mayor. I have no Idea who our local councillor is , nor do I give a hoot. All local authorities are broke, so prepare to be disappointed regards any promises you think they'll keep.

It is more of a prediction on how Starmer is actually rated, if they fail then, then Starmer has failed.

Unfortunately we will now suffer and fund labour's ideas, for the next few years and the crowd after them will have to repair the damage they do.
Got to repair the actual damage done by the Tories before even thinking about any possible damage caused by Labour.

Ever known any new government and PM be well rated shortly after getting into power and making the urgent tough decisions ?
Tories and Lib Dems where not doing as badly in the polls, despite inheriting a 148 billion deficit. They campaigned on austerity, and delivered.

Yes, I have. But I've never known a PM to have approval ratings drop from +11 to -38 in around 4 months. Historically, that's a record.

He was always going to be a target for the right wing press when he took the difficult decisions he warned about. He'll be fine.

He's done a few things I think are probably mistakes and not done the bleedin obvious because he said he wouldn't - ie political expedience.
(Should have upped the 2nd tax rate by a penny). And handled a couple of things clumsily, but on balance I'll give him more of a chance.
Just
SHOW US THE GROWTH.

Look at the mess they left.

You cannot seriously suggest that the country could afford more of them.

Not many have ever had to follow such a mess either.

Tough decisons now, or keep kicking the can down the road. Remind us who did that previously.
