Jbonding you said that you put waterproofer in the exterior scratch coat and not in the finish coat.
I said waterproofer should be in the scratch and finish coat
Legsakimbo said waterproofer in the finish coat only because it waould take too long to dry in non drying weather.
Legsakimbo and co came to put the finish coat on the gable of my house yesterday morning, the scratch coat had waterproofer and was applied by someone else.
He and his mate started at 10.00am and were finished at 11.30am on a 24widex20high gable helped on by the best looking most intelligent plasterers labourer ( me ) i had the job of brushing the patten on when it had gone off enough, this i didnt finish untill 7.00pm because it was too wet untill 4.00pm.
At 01.00am the next morning before i went to bed it was still wet to touch so no way could it have been floated if thats what was to be done.
I admit yesterday here was a non-drying day--cold no wind and damp, but Leg's point of waterproofer in the scratch coat stopping the drying process was bang on and you jbonding and me were totally 100% wrong and he was right.
It the summertime in a warm breeze it may be different but in damp or winter times forget the waterproofer.
so you got blagged of legs for how many sheep? quote freddie "Jbonding you said that you put waterproofer in the exterior scratch coat and not in the finish coat." read it again i said in certain conditions, ie severe weather and ashlar.quote freddie "Legsakimbo said waterproofer in the finish coat only because it waould take too long to dry in non drying weather." where did he say non drying conditions and explain non drying conditions, and he meant too long or hed miss his tea.quote freddie"Legsakimbo and co came to put the finish coat on the gable of my house yesterday morning, the scratch coat had waterproofer and was applied by someone else." why did you change plasterers?i would never finish someone elses rendering because if the waterproofer is not added correctly or its been left for a long time the waterproofer will start to do its job and stop the water passing through. meaning your waiting round till 7, ive never done a job and left the customer to rub up, they were there an hour and a half, what did you pay them?what was the mix of the top coat?or the scratch coat? quote freddie "I admit yesterday here was a non-drying day--cold no wind and damp, but Leg's point of waterproofer in the scratch coat stopping the drying process was bang on and you jbonding and me were totally 100% wrong and he was right" now i see what you mean about non drying day." the point of waterproofer is not about how quick you get home or as you call it the drying process, its about waterproofing. quote freddie "It the summertime in a warm breeze it may be different but in damp or winter times forget the waterproofer. [/quote]" dont forget the waterproofer in summer time or you might notice something in the winter time.
