I think some on here in week one of the new Labour government when the gangs weren’t smashed said something like 'give it six months'. I'm sure I’ve asked you already and you swerved answering so I’ll ask again. How long do you think you should give someone who said they would start the smashing of gangs on day one to show some signs of success? Six months? A year? 18 months? Give us an indication of the time frame before you will say "Feck me, it’s not happening, is it?”

The thing is though, it can be asserted our successive governments in recent decades haven't got much right, period. Regardless of the issue/subject. And whether right or wrong of them to do so, we are promised the proverbial earth before they get into government (or seeking re-election) then once in power, same old same old.

It's a bit like successive chief constables of the met police over recent decades all promising to do something about the institutional racism issue. A news prog a year or so back even showed a montage of the last few all promising in various ways to sort it. Present in the studio was the current chief constable who was then asked 'So ...'

Nothing ever gets fully/properly resolved. At best they muddle along with some improvements here and there, all the time p1ssing our hard earned away. I hold zero hope of government being any different on migration.
