Why is it hypocritical to buy clothing, as cheaply as possible, and not know how long it takes to make the garment?
If you are using loads of fittings, lights, wood, etc, don't you shop around looking for a decent price?
But you don't have to know how long it takes to put a light fitting, a cabinet, a tool, etc, together.
It's not hypocritical, it's shopping by price. Don't we all do it?
Do Boohoo make garments? Why or how should they know or care how long it takes to manufacture?
And how is it relevant to the BLM? How is it racist?
How is it discriminatory? What has colour prejudice got to do with it?

I'd like to see these workers get back pay at the working wage and then compensation. Those being deported I hope will hit the ground running with a bit of money in their pocket... too make a good life for themselves and family.

Are you getting your knickers in a twist over the wrong issue.
1. I haven't seen any reports of illegal immigrants, nor of anyone being deported, nor of any prosecution of manufacturers for employing illegal immigrants.
2. Local Authorities are in part, responsible for investigating and overseeing low wages and illegal conditions. But their funding has been cut persistently over the last 10 years.
3. Ditto HMRC, who are also responsible for investigating low wages.
4. If the garments cannot be made in UK, at competitive prices, the manufacturing process will be moved overseas, and any UK influence over pay and conditions will be removed entirely, and the clothes may well become even cheaper. Additionally, there will be knock-on effects to the labour market, etc, in the UK.
5. If the benefits and welfare systems had not been reduced drastically over the last 10 years, some of these people probably would not have been reduced to working at low wages, because there was no other option.
So instead of jumping up and down about (AFAICT) imaginary illegal workers, I suggest you look at the system and processes that caused the exploitation of workers, including the Supermarkets driving down farm produce prices.2. When you've assessed the market forces behind the reality of low costs, low prices, little support for unemployed, reduced funding for legislative processes, etc, maybe you should appraise which politicians deserve your support.

Sorry to harp back, but the other discussion reminded me.
Modern day slavery occurred in religious institutions. Under age pregnant girls were taken to a convent, their babies, if they survived were sold. The girls kept in slave labour, without pay, abused for several years.
Colour had nothing to do with it, but religion did. No doubt the girls were told their slave labour was necessary for God's forgiveness.

Let me see if I understand you correctly, you want me to go looking for one of your comments that would support transam's claim?
I know what, I'll make an allegation that transam is (whatever, fill in the blanks), and you and he can go looking for the evidence to support my allegation.
Weird logic you have. But (IIRC) it's not the first time you've made this suggestion.
Transam made a claim, I would have thought he'd have no problem finding a comment to support his claim, otherwise it would indicate that transam makes unfounded, unsupported, unsupportable, unverifiable claims.
Anyone with any sense of intelligence would check on the veracity of their claim before espousing it. Don't you think?
