To moderator 11What I struggle to understand is that the impression that I'm getting is that this geraint is perceived to be an abusive troll and as such there must surely be sufficient evidence to warrant a ban or at least some kind of reprimand. So why is he still here, goading people, ruining threads, being personally insulting?

How is one supposed to even bother trying to engage in debate, discussion and banter if there is a continual potentially poisonous threat of an abusive attack? I really am struggling to understand the rationale We're not just talking about the occasional spammer who joins up, maybe does a bit of trolling and is quickly picked up by the moderators and booted off. We're looking at a long term and habitual offender who is ruining things for a few members. I can't see me sticking around for long while he is permitted to to his thing, not because I'm scared, but because I don't see the point..

Unfortunately I think we all suffer abuse at times on here, although I think the forum has been quite good lately, it was much worse a short while ago....
Disagreements and harmless banter are fun, unfortunately some people just don't know where to stop and their sole purpose is to be disruptive.
If you enjoy the forum I hope that you will 'hang on in there' your posts have always been constructive, interesting and relevant it would be a shame to lose someone who is an asset to the site.

Frankly is there any point in anyone generally only contributing to the GD section anyway? What useful purpose do you really serve other than being another number for the owner to show the advertisers?

Well I notice that as far as I can see, all of my reported acts of abuse have been removed and so one can only take the moderator's word for it. It's clearly up to each and every one of you how you deal with posters such as this, but I for one will continue to take each post on its own merit and if it has an element of abuse behind it shall continue to report it to enable the moderators to either edit the text to leave the salient points or delete it and thus work towards what is presumably a banning threshold.

As for the charge of why am I on here if only for the GD, this is a valid point and I never had the intention of it being the case. However, there is a lot of lively discussion and debate on there and until I recover from this rather unfortunate ailment and can get back to working on the house and full time employment, I fear my interests will lie mostly there.

Well he either left of his own accord in which case one has to wonder why, or maybe he was banned in which case one has to look at some of the long term abusive posters and wonder what precise extremity he must have traversed to warrant such a punishment.

Technical question - this threshold number of deleted posts, which flags up the need for banning. Suppose one has been contibuting and posting a significant number of posts on a thread which then gets deleted, will this be recorded as a single or multiple delete?
