...doing a stand-in job for a canary

Not wishing to appear obsessed with detail, after thinking long and hard I did install the flue outdoors. It was very tempting to mount it inside, blowing warm fumes back into the kitchen, thereby maximising fuel efficiency, but the wife thought the vent would not match the toaster.

The canary is therefore safe.

Keep going at this rate and we'll break the 500 views barrier!

Gentlemen, I apologise for that last stroppy note. Was going down with flu and feeling Meldrewesque in the extreme. Or it may have been those flue gasses eating the brain. But one comment on someone else's post is hardly "hijack"! Nor are empires involved - just that it's amusing to think that our chat should have gathered 500 or so readers. We forget all this is available to the whole world. A sobering thought.
