For what it's worth, I'm certain you acted promptly and that you made the right decisions all along the way - I've had to do the same myself (as have many other posters on this topic) and I know how hard it is.

i wish he could have stayed longer, but he would have started suffering in the next few days. not something i would want him to have gone thru, and not for him to remember him bein force to stay alive longer.

not even 10 years old. ive had him almost half my life, and ill never forget the day when my mam said we could have a cat

I know andy. Same as my first cat - lived 'til 17 years old, and I buried her when I was 23.

it takes a man to show your true feelings and not worry about being called a girl. ;)

The cats we have had have all disappeared to die in the past. never had one die in the house or had to dispose of the body. We haven't seen our present cat for a month or so . . . so i presume he has passed on :( the good thing about "garden" cats is you tend not to get too attached as they spend a lot of time outdors.

ha ha ! What! what sensitive souls you boys are te he! you can fool some of the people some of the time ;)

Aauuughh, Matron

Seriously though Moz, amusing as your post was, can we move the banter to another topic, in respect for andy?

Agree - it was going in the wrong direction - hence some posts removed here.
