One thing I find hilarious about bible, Koran, and any other god bothering types is their ability without any sense of IRONY or awareness to UPGRADE their beliefs.
If they TRULY believe their holy books then how can they change the original one?
NEW testament what did god say sorry the OLD one was just a draft?

Now they are saying they believe in EVOLUTION didn't say that when Darwin brought it out did they NOW its ok.

Science has the RIGHT to upgrade its theories RELIGION does NOT
because to do so alters the word of GOD who is INFALLIBLE?

You would have thought that knowing what we're like (after all he made us ), god would have spelt out one and only one book which couldn't be changed not open to various interpretations. Maybe the almighty one has limited abilities after all

The ancient scribes were never handed a definitive, preordained set of values written in several different languages for goodness sake.

I guess what those old wise men were trying to do was set out the ideal way to live your life as they saw it in ancient time.

Only a short sighted fool would expect the same words today.

But you have to admire the longevity of some of the scriptures.

2 or 3 thousand years ain't that long in the grand plan of things. Trouble is, they don't tend to last even that long before someone wants to poo poo them and rewrite a new set of religious guidelines and claim to be the mouth of god.

However, I suspect that the reason why noone is killed in the name of atheism is that unlike relgious sects, they don't have to cling onto the belief that their belief is the way to go and that anyone who doesn't accept this deserves to die. the infidels mentioned in the quran are the ones that attack first and disrupt peace.....its not like muslims are commanded to kill people because they do not believe.

Killing in the name of atheism? Killing in the name of a disbelief?
I don't think you get how daft that is because you do not accept what atheism is.
We have to be clear on our definitions.

Theist - a god believer
Atheist - someone without a belief in god
Anti-theist - A type of atheist which believes in the non existence of gods and that religion is a bad thing.

Killing someone in the name of 'not believing in God' makes as much sense as killing in the name of 'not believing in Aliens'. There is no way to morally excuse it.
Whereas God believers can kill and 'know' it was what God commanded so therefore they were just doing his work and are guilt free.
