Climate Change (split off from "Snow" thread)

Well, precisely.

The issue is that the current rapid warming is man made and we can do something about that.
How do you know it's man made when it's happened before?
"The science behind it is really very simple, nothing complicated to grasp".

Humans have been releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, since the beginning of the industrial revolution, which traps heat and raises temperatures. It's pretty simple science and has never happened before.

I see many rapid peaks in those graphs, up AND down.
The earth has been getting warmer and cooler sometimes very rapidly, since it was born.
Many organisms became extinct because of these rapid changing in climate.
And.... humans weren't there...View attachment 368505
Some text that goes with your graph,

"The fact that Earth has been hotter in the past than it is today doesn't prove that recent global warming is natural. Forest fires can have both natural and human causes. So can climate change. It is partly through figuring out what caused the periods like the ones described in this article that we came to understand that carbon dioxide sets the thermostat of Earth's climate.

The fact that Earth has been hotter in the past than it is today doesn't prove that current warming is harmless, either to people or other life on Earth. Some previous hot periods led to global mass extinctions.

The hot house periods described in this article occurred millions and millions of years before humans existed. They have no bearing on whether modern human civilization can cope with the level of warming we are likely to face if we do not stop adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere."

CO² concentration in gone times was a lot higher....
And humans weren't there...

And at the same time it doesn't prove it's man made.
As it's been happening for ever, a reasonable person would deduce that it's a natural process.
We don't like it and we'll be probably all die in a few centuries.
Nothing we can do about it.
Enjoy the ride.
The planet is naturally progressing into better things and we're not included in the picture.

Again, text to go with your graph,

"CO2 levels are determined by the imbalance between carbon sequestration (burial in sediments, capture by plants), and carbon emissions (decomposition and volcanic activity). Imbalances in this system created a downward trend in CO2 levels, leading to a glaciation period around 300 million years ago. This was followed by a period of intense volcanic activity, doubling CO2 concentration to about 1000 ppm. Levels then dropped until they reached today’s concentrations during the Oligocene era, 33 to 23 million years ago, when temperatures were still 4 to 6 degrees C higher than today. This is quite a worrying fact as the amounts of greenhouse gases we’ve emitted could already potentially take us back to similar conditions."

And at the same time it doesn't prove it's man made.
Greenhouse gases cause heat to rise and we have been releasing those more and more in the last few hundred years. Almost 100% of climate scientists think it has absolutely been proven.

And we'll go extinct.
You're concerned about your welfare rather than that of planet earth.
Instead I've accepted a long time ago that I am a little cell in the massive living organisms planet earth and I will die for the progression of the whole organism.

Almost 100% of climate scientists think it has absolutely been proven.
Incidentally the few who have proved the opposite have had their funds withdrawn and excluded from scientific forums.
Save your bum and agree with what we tell you...

No one has proved the opposite, the debate is over, man made climate change is just a fact.
If you say so... it must be boll@x.
I debunked your belief in 30 seconds using data from the same sources professing man made climate change.
It's all an excuse to charge us more tax.
Nothing more, nothing less.

The science is simple, what bits do you actually disagree with?

We have been releasing greenhouse gases more and more which trap heat and cause warming. What is so controversial about any of that?

The fact that it's an infinitesimal small amount compared to natural processes happening everyday.
If you really cared about the planet rather than yourself, you would be opposing deforestation and use of plastic.
How much gases does a vulcanic eruption emits?
Google it so you'll realise that the old lady driving a fiesta is less than a drop in the ocean.
