Climate Change (split off from "Snow" thread)

Course it aint....

Can you imagine what was pouring into the atmosphere where asteroids etc hit the earth? Etc etc etc...

Course it is. It is now a man made issue.

There were no humans millions of years ago. It is demonstrably different.

It's still amazing to me that you get people who can't tell the difference between weather and climate and think of that ignorance as a badge of pride.

People not being able to understand a graph is more understandable, although still disappointing. Understanding the limitations of your data is pretty complex and it's a difficult habit to get into.

But you don't believe them. Make your mind up.
Trouble is that they get results from their own data going against their predetermined narrative, then they go around claiming that their results show whatever suits them.
They are so sure that the majority of people will not be bothered to check the data and just believe their lies that they don't even try to fiddle with the data.
Then the few actually checking are labelled as conspiracy theorists and the game is on.
Remember covid?
Same thing.

You can do better than that

He really can't.

Notice the lack of examples, names, anything to prove his point. He's repeating what he's heard and, deeply ironically, hasn't dug to check his annecdote is true or not.

Climate breakdown drove the annual global temperature above the internationally agreed 1.5C target for the first time last year, supercharging extreme weather and causing “misery to millions of people”. The average temperature in 2024 was 1.6C above preindustrial levels, data from the EU’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) shows. That is a jump of 0.1C from 2023, which was also a record hot year and represents levels of heat never experienced by modern humans.

The heating is primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuels, and the damage to lives and livelihoods will continue to escalate around the world until coal, oil and gas are replaced. The Paris agreement target of 1.5C is measured over a decade or two, so a single year above that level does not mean the target has been missed, but does show the climate emergency continues to intensify. Every year in the past decade has been one of the 10 hottest, in records that go back to 1850.

Denying the man made influnce on Climate Change is akin to saying the Earth is flat and the moon is made of cheese.
