I see NO REASON WHATSOEVER that all care home staff are not OBLIGATED to have the Covid vaccine, and I would like this extended to everyone working in contact with the public, not just healthcare. How about bus drivers, supermarket workers and the like? They are equally at risk of catching Covid-19 from a random member of the public. This latest Delta variant has spread like wildfire due to "some members of the community" declining to accept the vaccines plus the fact that (at the time) only over-50s were scheduled the vaccine. Those who refuse the vaccine on "yooman rites" issues who are not full British Citizens can return whence they came, and the remainder can go live on Rockall, out of harm's way.

If you don't have it, you lose your job, so will no longer be a carer, and what is worse, they may have to leave the UK as many are , as pointed out earlier, Filipinos,as well a so all carers for adults in England would be vaccinated. As you stated earlier, it is wildly ridiculous.

What about the passengers on the busses, the shoppers in the shops, should they be vaccinated? as they too are equally at risk of catching covid from someone else.

@Ihavenojob. Passengers on buses, shoppers in shops etc can CHOOSE whether they ride on the bus or go to the shop. The bus driver or checkout operator cannot. The whole purpose of this discussion is whether those PROVIDING the service should be mandated the vaccine.

Why did they keep busses running and shops open during lockdown ?
When I went to work in South Africa in the early 1980’s for a VW/Audi/Porsche dealership, I had to get a work permit. The dealership arranged and paid for my flights, my accommodation and my work permit. Part of the requirements of that permit was a medical check and I also had to be checked for TB. The recruiting agency arranged and paid for the tests. When I got there, I had to pay a weekly amount to cover my health care from my wages. I accepted those conditions and I don’t see why we couldn’t have a similar setup for workers coming to the UK from any other country.

Some who will refuse the jab may be British, what will they do ? The vaccine is reported to be a good thing, but forcing it on anyone is wrong.

As soon as the government realise that sacking hundreds of people willing to do a job that most wont want to do, will lead to acute shortages of staff, they will bin the idea.

If someone was a typhoid carrier and refused to voluntarily not work in the kitchens of a hospital, care home, school etc, what should be done?
Was it their job before the typhoid or is this a random refusal to voluntarily not work in the kitchen?
