Those 3 have been banned many times but come back with different names but the same crap.

Shame all the decent boilers are condensing.

I worked for a heating contractor (as an electrican) who fitted 30000 boilers a year, none were non condensing, and lots were in London flats.

I very much doubt the buildings owner would win this if it went to court.

At a 5 day week without a hols, that is 115 a day. That is a lot. I will not take anything you write this after seriously at all.

The OP doesn't want to discuss his boiler any more because he has discovered that he couldn't fit it without fracturing a regulation or two.. I always thought that it was the job of the council to replace boilers in council flats..

This is becoming hysterical. If the is is the quality of tradesmen God Help us. They cannot read properly. The regs are clear. These fellows have been defacing buildings with ugly pipes and having nuisance plumes all over the country. Some apartment buildings look like something from the third world with all sorts of ugly boiler things hanging off them with vapour pouring out.

Yep, the regs are clear... YOU cannot have a gas boiler of any kind..HE or SE so it really wouldn't matter if you got an exemption or not...

Though I suspect that any tradesman who was to do any work for you would be pleased to convert a standard boiler into a flueless combi boiler..

Just check, if he is wearing gloves then he is not trying to protect your decor but trying not to leave fingerprints...

Agreed, many parts of London would benefit from levelling and starting again... No need for you to leave your council flat, sunshine...

John... Let's ask this in a very clear way...

How are you going to get around the fact that a boiler flue (condensing OR NOT) is not allowed to terminate into/onto land which you do not own?

Your exemption is irrelevant because your existing boiler is already non-compliant and a new one would HAVE to be compliant.

If enough of the leaseholders got together - the freeholder HAS to sell the freehold to them - so they could stand on their new balconies and discharge what they like onto/over /around their shared property
