Like @ETAF and @blup (?) I also use the Fatmax Pro organisers, both deep and shallow versions, with different organisers saved for different tasks (e.g. a shallow one for the small screws you use when installing door furniture, a deep one for the larger screws I use when timber framing, another for stainless fixings, etc) . Nice things about them are the clear top - so you can see what is inside them at a glance, the removeable compartments and the ability of these boxes to clip together so I can carry 2 or 3 as a single "stack" if needs be. I have 8 of them in use at the moment plus a spare deep empty one for use on door hardware kits on an as and when basis (e.g. for spy viewers, lock barrels, escutcheons, etc)A lot of the trades use organisers like these:

To make best use of anything like this, though, I think requires at tidy (OCD?) mind set - and to have somewhere to store it securely and held in place (shelf with a bungee over the wheel arch?) when travelling rather than allowing it to slosh around in the back of the van between jobs. I think it also helps you to be tidy if you try to carry only a smallish general toolkit plus only the specialist tools you actually need for the job rather than trying to carry everything at once (something I wish site managers would learn)
