Converting to combi pipework

This all started because the OP wanted to move to a combi, Bernie and his BF know better.

There’s pros and cons to each system. I like combis, but our new house might require an alteration to incorporate some stored HW.

Well said - I think a lot of the criticism I am seeing in this forum is based on commercial reasons for being critical. Much more money to be made over the years in a combi system than an open- vented system, much more money to be made from high pressure systems by the 'professionals', than a low pressure system.

Of course if that really was true then there wouldn't be any professionals on her offering advice at all.

The trouble is that the forum is spoilt by a few individuals that are more concerned with bickering with all and sundry whilst making posts that do nothing but cloud issues and cause the original posters to give up - as they seem to have in this case

I have never claimed to be a plumber, but I have sucessfully carried out the the design and installation of all the plumbing in two houses.

Did that really come out of your keyboard?

TWO houses?? You Sir have a depth and breadth of experience that is truly mindblowing. In fact I would go so far as to say that your portfolio by far outweighs all of the collective knowledge of the professionals on here..

Such crazy times we live in - not one but TWO whole houses

I salute you

Drop the sarcasm.......

I do have the depth and breadth of knowledge to design and install a heating system that works. I did it only twice because I had no interested in being a full time plumber when I had a career in electronics.

it could affect your professional image.

Sounds like a threat to me.

I wonder if you've ever stopped to consider how you're perceived on here Bernie - if I can call you Bernie of course?

You're nothing but a troll that constantly ruins threads by picking arguments with all and sundry.

You don't seem to realise that you don't win these fights with reasoned debate you just keep posting crap until everyone else gives up then award yourself the victory.

It's a shame because you actually appear to be an intelligent person but quite frankly you have put yourself into the position of being the village idiot.

All in my opinion of course.

You will note that I have not resorted to insults in my last three posts which is the usual claim made by persons of your stamp. You have been the only one making threats I am merely giving my opinion which I suspect many on here will agree with.

No threat intended,

I think you have to agree that some on this forum attack the person and not the message, maybe they cannot present "reasoned debate" to support their opinion.

Plumbing for the most part is such a basic job that just doing one house successfully would probably give you all the experience and understanding one needs. There is nothing particularly daunting or complex about it and I have done it for both myself at home and commercially getting paid for it. Of all the technical jobs, plumbing is by far the easier one to pick up.

I wouldn't call it bickering, but it does always unfortunately rapidly turn to bickering, because certain people are unwilling to accept that others might just be entitled to an alternative POV and to express it.

great no need for any actual plumbers/gasmen/heating engineers to come on hear anymore , Harrys your man(y)

Good job they never used Non-barrier pipe then as according to you it doesnt exist

If that was directed at me (though it looked as if you were aiming your comment at sbgasman) - I said I had never heard of it, I didn't suggest it did not exist.
