Diagrams received - that's extremely kind of you and is much appreciated.

My plan for the end of next week is to replumb the boiler end, swapping the two returns and also adding a magnaflow into the return path of the CH loop.

I'll post again with the results for this modification - fingers cross there will be a vast improvement in cylinder reheat times.

Thanks again to everyone that's posted helpful comments

I would like to run an eye over the plan before you start.

Just though it would be nice for those that have been following this saga to have an update on the new boiler plumbing. I was planning to simply switch the two returns to the boiler and see what happened. Luckily for me DIA popped over to have a look and it didn’t take much convincing from him to change the whole system into a Y-Plan. Boy am I glad he did, thanks for everything DIA - I hope you enjoyed the cake :)

This is the before and after graphs of my cylinder temperature…

I think you’ll all agree that this is a vast improvement; I now get hot water in less than 60 minutes, much better than the 160 minutes before. What is most noticeable is the flow temperature to the cylinder; in the new graph it’s up around 70degC where in the old graph it was anywhere between 45 and 60degC depending on cylinder temperature.

What's even better is the rad heat. The whole house is so much warmer then before!

Thanks again to all that have helped, especially John and Tony – your comments, advice, and help have been amazing.
