Figures from Energywatch show that since 2003 electricity prices have risen by about 30% and gas prices by 40%

And then it'd be even more expensive! Like it would be if they had been kept open.

You know the story: cheap crap from abroad cost less to import than to make it here.

renationalise the mines an then stockpile ,
natural gas will be gone by 2032 ,

they will need the coke to produce the old coke /town gas again then ...lol

talk about full circle for any one who knows about the transition of town gas too our Forever North Sea Natural Gas Reserves ..lol

Get the F out to a place where you do not need extra warmth nor extra cooling... Near a rip roaring river, but a fair bit above it.
Or stoicly stay put ... :(

No ,just one very deep one and throw the bitch down it

I've noticed lately of all the ads for natural gas lately.....pushing for it...trying to get everyone to convert....but it's a short straw game, because between electricity and gas....both are so high now....don't know where it going to end up. Right now, am going the old fashioned route...extra clothes, wash in cold water, extra insulation and pile the cats on the bed to keep feet warm....can't wait til it gets warm.

sorry....rambling again :)

Well will have a little moan...then dig even deeper into our pockets...

Why...

Cos we are Brits thats why!!!!

not all of us.......my pockets aren't that deep, my friend. But we'll all manage somehow...no matter where we are :)

It seems to me that one way for the west to help break it's addiction to Arab oil is by developing a SAFE nuclear reactor.

I just don't understand why, with strict controls over quality of construction and redundant systems to ensure safe operation of the reactor, we can't turn to nuclear energy to supply most of our needs for electrical energy (including the electricity to recharge the batteries of electric vehicles).

There remains - more questions than answers.

A neat BBC resource Click2Link.
Mind boggling ..

Sooner or later we will be digging our own coal and running all the freight on the railways again instead of poxy great lorries up the motorway. It's inevitable as oil and natural gas run out. Mass transport will take over and we will be back where we were in the 1950's
