I'd like to site it on an external wall but the only external walls available are in the living room and bedrooms. Not keen on that. The kitchen is triangular and there's no external wall. Well, about 100mm either side of the window.
Why is is best to avoid a long flue?
Exciting times! I might be able to spend the night there sometime this year
Wrong about flue its a combi so it should be installed so that the run to the hot taps especially the main point of use is as short as possible flue systems are very versatile now and its old hat to think outside wall

You try & tell that to the bearings on the boiler fan mate!! Or confirming the integrity of a long vertical flue on a CP12 for the next 10years!! Certainly you've a point regarding the hot water draw off, but the rest is just mince.
Old hat.........never laughed so much since the wife died.
What is so hard about checking a flue ??
fan bearings being doing this job over 30 years and never seen an additional detrimental affect on fans with longer flue runs that is why short runs have restrictors because the fan is designed for the longest run
