After a discussion with a custard on the dog
I know what the dog is (dog & bone = phone) and can guess that "custard" means "customer"/"client", but what is the derivation?

Link does not work.

Works a treat on my computer. Have another bash.
Nope linky no worky, says thread doesn't exist.
that is weird. I have just tried it on my office computer. Differebt PC, different town! And it still works a treat.

Try searching (if you're at all interested!):

"remote room stat query / custard query", without inverted commas, post by Expertgasman.

Still doesn't work!

But, as I pointed out previously, the earliest use of "custard" to mean "customer" was by tabs on 3 Sept 2008, which is two years earlier than your claim!

LOL.Still don't understand why link isn't working, it does for me. Anyway, I wasn't claiming to have started common usage of the word, in fact II never do use it. I asked a similiar question as you did, and "MICKYG" cvlaimed to be the introducer.
