dangerously hot water

you are all gonna laugh.

the immersion was not on when the water suddenly went hot.
I changed the stat tonight.
Have just checked and the wife has turned immersion ON!!

with no immersion on, the water is still hotter than the stat setting!!

Any clues?

yeah,

emptied the very hot water last night, then waited until this morning to see waht the temp is like as the boiler heats the water overnight

Ok get a thermometer and check to see what the temp. of the water in the taps is, then turn up your cylinder stat and call for water then make sure it cuts off when a temperature is reached. Measure the difference between the temp. of the water in the tap and the display on the thermostat and turn it down to suit.
