If you are just ripping rough pallet wood, go for a 24 tooth blade. Less teeth give faster but poorer quality cut, more teeth = slower finer cut. It's the gaps between the teeth that govern how fast it will cut since that's where the sawdust has to go.
Hope to rip some nicer pieces than just pallet wood. It was just a test piece to check if the saw could cut. I hadn't ran anything through it until I could fit the safety features.
Mostly I would cross cut with a mitre saw so maybe buying a blade dedicated to rip is a better idea. Don't really know what's best.
Freud blades are very good. The one you linked to will be fine but personally, unless doing furniture grade work I'd go for less teeth for a faster cut and less strain on the motor.
Hi Graeme
I've just acquired one of these saws in a similar state to yours by the look of it.
The riving knife is missing and obviously I need a replacement.
Can you remember the part number of the Draper one you used, would be much appreciated if you could.
Thanks
Ken
