Does anybody know where to find, or how to identify, decent quality T&G floorbards (i.e. not chipboard panels)?

Ones that won't warp, twist, bend and curl?

My experience of the ones sold in places like Bodgit and Quickjob are that even if they're OK in the store, after you've had them indoors for a few days, they start to warp.

Does anybody make decent ones these days? Appearance doesn't matter, as they won't be on display, but I would like to not have troughs and ridges in my floor.

I've fitted many flooring and the problem with T & G flooring in DIY superstore, they all cover up in plastic tightly and no air can get into them,so when unpack air get in then wrap, twist.I always go to a proper timber yard as the timber's are in open air, undercover and settle down.I've done my lounge flooring last year and bought it from Wickes :!:
this one was heavy duty T & G 22mm thick :!: and have 2 grooves underneath to prevent it twisting which is rare these days.I was so please with it,I ended up staining the wood to bring out the beauty of the grains.I can't remember the name yet as I'm at work, but will know when I get home if you're interested.

I've seen stuff in their brochure which I've always assumed to be a premium product - I think they call it Bordeaux Pine - that might be the same. I've never actually gone and looked at it though.

That's OK - none of my joists are further apart than that...

And short boards make life easier if I even need to lift them for a spot of illicit wiring. ;)

And they fit into the car more easily.

Bet there's more waste, though...

If you do decide having them, I've hire the 'secret nail gun' from HSS Tool Hire shop, a lot easier than banging nails on top unless you don't want to hide the nails head that showing.
