Decent Quality Isolation Valves

I've honed in on connex or pegler.

However, since this is an exploratory subject - I'm curious who the maker of the poorly cast iso valve is.

There seems to be a logo on the side. Asking the communities help in identifying the brand.

Also - other than connex, pegler & wondervalve - are there other brands out there, that would also be considered premium?

Arrow would be another, more specialist though than run of the mill though and are classed as a WRAS specialist. They specialise in RPZ/flow limiting as well as service & ISO valves amongst others. They are one of the few that actually create valves where the inner and spindle seals are serviceable.

Outstanding. Madrab - did you happen to come across arrows education section.

They have numerous guides that cover both water regs and solutions.

This is a pdf they have specifically on isolation valves, their construction, specifications and their place in water regs. It even speaks about their use as replacements to traditional stop cocks plus the issue of check/non-return valves.

It is a little old & i'f inagine it may be due an update - but it is quite in depth and a rich resource on the topic at hand:

Post 20 :- ;)
Invariably it's down to the manufacturing quality and tolerances of the stem seals and the teflon (PTFE) socket seals that the ball sits in and the construction quality.

Nice tutorial around spherical valves from Arrow

Yes, I've used arrow a couple of times before - for specialist stuff.

As mentioned, they are very good for WRAS stuff when it comes to following the regs and as far as critical backflow and actual water control is concerned. It's more relative when it comes to commercial stuff.

Does the water meter outside most homes in london (where u can isolate the whole house) have the ability to block 'back-flow'?

The house in question is a semi-detached - with a thames water meter outside on the pavement - with a round plastic access cover.
