Sadly John, that type of 'neglect' is not uncommon these days. I have experienced/witnessed several incidences over the last few years.

The days when our Health Service was the envy of the world are long gone. Nowadays they probably pay out nearly as much on compensation as on patient care.

As with a lot of other places, there are still too many chiefs and not enough indians.
Not Uncommon - it`s endemic  My wife retired last year after 40 years of Proper nursing . Most of these new degree nurses  haven`t got a clue . Yet another symptom of shyte britain

No way do I want to end my days in a nursing home, over the years I have worked in several of them and I am not impressed I want the choice of voluntary euthanasia.
It might be that I may have my faculties but if your physical side is wrecked and you can't perform basic tasks such as keeping yourself clean I don't want to live like that, dignity and decency is what I want, plus of course no pain.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
BLOODY HOSPITALS im having a rant.

was called in today because the doctor wanted to see me and mum,to explain that in the last 9 days they have been doing assessments on my dad and today they done 1 for the court of protection forms that we had given them, and as some of you may know how ambiguous the mental act is,the doc said that in his opinion he thought he could retain some information,so now he has recommended that the psychiatrist consultant does an assessment aswell.
and to top it all he had an assessment carried out by the rest home aswell today and GUESS WHAT they have decided they will not take him because they feel he needs more care then they can give,BUT according to the hospital he doesnt require any medical needs just mental/physical needs

seems no one knows what there a.rses are doing with there elbows.
