I suppose we are in the right topic.....just plain female...nothing has been added or detached (last time I looked) but, crikey the "news" has a way of changing things....I just typed, before I thought and bingo! too late, couldn't delete. I don't consider myself a "girlie" girl (older) but I don't get too friendly with them either ;) ;) .Pretend not to notice....I'm sure no one else did :)

oooohh yes ... sorry ... you need to help us brits at times as you are clever/quick in your replies ,

and I had to fight moz off my 8 yr old daughter, the dirty old man, lock up your daughters guys here comes the moz.

well, rest assured as best you can, I am well over the 18 mark. Not quite old enough to be your mum (based on your past posts) but too old to be your daughter. And like (just about) everything else, Ive tried, by the time I learn, the format changes and all the rules do too. I was the last to get a cell phone......still haven't figured out all the bells and whistles......never tried chat forums until now (see? timing....scandals all over about kids who don't use any common sense and perps who take advantage) I just didnt think. But, I thought (and still do) it would change the way I could "spar" back and forth....american women(in general) don't always get protrayed the way they really are and being in a "foreign" forum, wasn't sure of the "acceptance" (not the word--but can't think of a better one)....then as timing goes, the "dolly" incident. ......so it goes. ...... :)

Here woman get this into yourself... FFS !

As I suspected, there really is no Real difference in the two countries....we're all people. And fear will be our doom. There never will be peace, not because we can't (or won't) accept others, but because most people have so little self respect and no great capacity for tolerance.

Gawd.......how I do go on

It is refreshing to hear someone just say what's on his mind and still be accepted. We don't all want to agree.......there would be nothing to talk about.

Wow, you would LOVE Italy!!! I used to do a lot of work there, just after the latest Iraq war had started (before Italy had joined).

There was one hotel I stayed in a lot, and I was friendly with a couple of the chaps who worked the night shift. One of them was proudly a Marxist, the other didn't mention if he followed a particular ideology but I would say he was generally conservative.

Neither was afraid to speak their mind: they were great friends but whenever we got onto the topic of the war (I never steered us there but we always ended up there!) their views were so different I thought they might actually start hitting each other a few times...

Some of the gems exchanged were:

"What would you know, communists are all gay"

"Hey Mussolini, why don't you go and suck Bush's ****?"

But, whilst it got heated for a few minutes at a time they never got in a real mood with each other. They would accept their difference of opinion and move on with the conversation. Freaked me out at first!

Color, neighbor, why did they loose the U ?

(Needed for S.A ?)

I'm pretty sure that this is how the words were also spelled in GB at that time. The 'u' came about later through influences from French language, so the US way of spelling is closer to the original than the current 'English' spellings.

Still think that would be strange, the French influence on English language has been here since the 11 - 12th century
