If your fire is generating mist but it's not coming out through the vents above the bulbs, the fan has probably failed. Replacement from Dimplex or other spares providers is a ridiculous £40 plus. On eBay you can buy the same basic fan - look for a 24V 60 x 60 x 28 blower - for less than £6. You can also get a 12 V version even cheaper which works fine if you add a series resistor (I used 270 ohms 2W wirewound). You also need to cut the connecting wire off the old faulty fan and join it to the new fan. You must observe polarity & insulate the connections safely. The joints should be soldered too and , off course, the power should be off during this work.
