Evening all,
I'm looking to have mains smoke detectors hooked up at home at some point in the future, and as I'm having carpets fitted in two days time I decided to run a cable up to the loft in preparation - so I don't have to rip them up
I've used a 1.5mm two core & earth cable and routed it in the existing conduit, along with the other cables, from the consumer unit to the loft.
(nothing is connected yet)
So...
Will a sparky be able to wire it up legally?
And is 1.5mm cable enough (pretty sure 13a is way more than a smoke alarm needs)?
Thank ye kindly
