Driving to France

(link dated December 2020)

"Your air quality certificate and its sticker can be ordered online directly from the Ministry website. The vehicle and its Crit’Air level are recorded definitively, and so do not need to be renewed. All vehicles registered since January 1997 are eligible."
We might be having a 3 or 4 day driving trip in July. Thinking of going to Rouen and possibly mont st michel. Is that too ambitious?

Just ordered my crit air sticker - £3.98!

Shouldn't be a problem, Rouen isn't too far, and it's a lovely place, half-timbered buildings.
Don't know if you're into chambres d'hotes, but there's one at Canteleu, just noth-west of Rouen we went to some years ago. +33 6 80 01 34 21. Includes a microbrewery and a good restaurant just down the road.
Might be still there!

Anybody else been confused trying to attach the Crit'Air certificate? The instructions say -

"Operating mode for vehicle with windshield
Clean the inside of the windscreen at the bottom right. The surface must be clean and dry before application
Take off the assembly from the back of the document and stick it on the cleaned area
Once glued, do not attempt to reposition the assembly at the risk of tearing the certificate"

Clear plastic peels off the back of the document, leaving a sticky surface, but to stick that to the windscreen, need to cut round the certificate with scissors. That makes it visible from inside the car, and I can't imagine that's the intention, though it doesn't say either way.
I ended up cutting out the square with scissors, peeling off the paper covering the (sticky) face of the certificate, and sticking it on (visible from outside). Left the peel-off plastic on the back in place, as removing it would leave a sticky surface to collect dust.
Odd that it doesn't mention scissors, though I don't see how to do it without.

Hope it's not just me being slow!

Different ways to fit it depending on whether on a bike or a car.

I used the instructions for a car. It implies that when you peel off the plastic backing the certificate comes off with it, but mine didn't. And it doesn't mention the peel-off paper on the face.
Be interested to hear how you get on. It's a trivial matter but I'm curious.

How long did it take you all to receive your Crit'Air sticker?

Thanks.

Mine took 10 days but when they confirm your order which is the same day, they send you a temporary one in the email that you can print out to fix to the screen until the sticky one arrives.

As said, just peel off the plastic backing and the sticker peels off of that and sticks on your screen. I only attached mine lightly to the screen and I’ve now removed it and put it back onto the packing and stored it with my V5 in case I go again.

Trying to remember, but I don't think with mine the sticker came off with the plastic backing. Perhaps I was doing something wrong. Did you end up with just a circular disc, or in a square like mine below?
