The U.K fishing industry is only allowed to take 40% of all fish caught in U.K coastal waters 60% go's to forigners

Iceland keeps 90% of all fish caught in there home coastal waters

Norway keeps 88% of there fish caught in home coastal waters.

Remember the cod wars! :)

I do

Interesting to note that Norway negotiate the 16% of the fish they do not catch in there coastal waters in deals . The U.K is forced into only catching or landing 40%

Probably why the fishing industry supported Brexit :)

Definitely, but our poor quotas are more likely to be because we roll over for all and sundry.

That's what's happened in the past - EU and everyone else; I just hope the current lot can do better, but with May agreeing to the large payment, I'm not so sure.

perhaps Farage is to blame. Remember he was appointed to the Fisheries committee, but couldn't be bothered to attend the meetings and do the job he was paid for.

I dont think so, that ship has long since sailed :)

how many years has he been an MEP, and failed to do anything about fishing quotas?

As I pointed out, fishing quotas were all stitched up decades before Farage was an MEP.

Has Farage been the only MEP or MP to fail to do anything about fishing quotas?

you agree then, that he achieved nothing, and didn't even bother turning up to the committee meetings.

Not many people get paid for a job they don't bother doing.

What a useless windbag.

of course he did something , he was in part responsible for helping to get the UK to come out the EU

Brexit is supported by the fishing industry ;)

Farage knew going to the meetings would be pointless.
He served his purpose much better else where.

Yes I remember the cod war as I was there serving Queen & country protecting our trawlers from the Icelandic gunboats cutting their trawls. All a waste of time as our government of the time then later screwed our fishery industry.

Since you cant provide any evidence of any MEP or MP that has made a difference the fishing quota it can be assumed Farage has had as much success as anybody else.
