Electrical OCD

Lights controlled by two-way switching, when the light is off, I like both switches to be in the proper off position, and not both in the 'on' position!
Makes mental note to break into Gaz's house and rewire or invert some switches so that both "off" means light on

For me it's plate screws all set the same way. I always position them so the slot is at 45° with the upper end of the slot to the right. If it's a larger grid plate with 4 or more screws I set the slots as sort of a circle, the corners at 45°, any middle screws vertically.
I like to use security screws with shear heads.

It does make it a right ("Q*&"£^£*#@ to get the accessory off ever again, but there are no slots of any sort to worry about being aligned.

I'm borderline OCD but mainly having to check I've locked the house and garage. If your habit doesn't take over and impact on your everyday life it's not OCD, I'm told.
But would you know?

Would you know it was the 50th time you'd checked the door if you were doing it because you couldn't remember if you'd checked it or not?

Intermediate (4-way) with three switches makes things more complicated since you can't have all up and all down for the same state, but I like to make sure that with all switches in what would normally be the off position (up for U.K., down for U.S.) the light is off.
And when you do that, all 3 the other way round means lights on.

We once fitted retractive switches and latching relays in a house where someone couldn't deal with the 2 way switches not being all the same way!

I think that some people need to get a grip and realise which things are important, and which aren't...

Which kind of makes sense... Then you add a fourth switch and there goes that one!

I like all the earth sleeving to have the yellow at the front with green stripes at each side (vertical) or top and bottom (horizontal).

Wouldn't it make more sense to want the green showing to the front? That way the plain yellow wires are easier to dinstinguish from the earths.

I haven't ever been tempted to do that in my house, ever...

When testing, I always leave socket switches on, usually one on, one off. Just to annoy folk like you, lol.

I have recently come back from a holiday near Okey....I thought my switching finger was twitching more than usual!"

Okehampton? Love Dartmoor, often go there at weekends, Lunch at the Rugglestone and a walk. Hour and a half from me though!
