Thanks oilman. It is too late indeed, have send the card yesterday. And your last thoughts are partly correct, don't want to 'sound' too buddy-buddy like, and 'with love' would have been a bit OTT (slightly). I think I've done well with the final wording though, still friendly and expressing gratitude.

People sign their Christmas cards, birthday cards etc ".....love......", not considered OTT then, and with some of the people, you would probably prefer they didn't get any closer than distant. So what's a friend? If you have more than one "friend" in life you are a VERY lucky person, aquaintances referred to as "friends" don't count.
