The process would not be quick and we would need to feed them and house them and probably involve lawyers and stuff.
Well in a time of crisis we can cut through all the red tape
The lawyers can go and do one
Most of them need kicking out the country as well
That's the point. A few hundred or a few thousand is a number that can be dealt with. When it reaches a million, what do you do? too many to deport, too many to put in holding centres, too many to imprison, they're here and they're here to stay, nothing can be done about it other than what we're doing now, ignoring it.
Alternatively, amnesty and hopefully (although not guaranteed) it might solve the need to bring over farm workers from eastern Europe. As IT said though, would having an amnesty act as a magnet for more migrants, likely, I think any such move would need to be accompanied by a tightening of border controls.
We live in strange times and conventional solutions to problems are out of the window.

its not fake news its misrepresented.
Most of them are visa overstayers rather than those that came here illegally in the first place....its a government failing that they dont keep control.
and its been that way for many years, hardly new and nothing to do with refugees coming in by boat.
i have no idea if the HMRC system ties up with the home office so I dont know if they get away with working legally PAYE or they are cash workers
