Greece are in a very unhappy position. On one hand they have debt that they can never repay, on the other hand they do not have the confidence to walk away and go bankrupt, they are convinced that the EU is still somehow good for them, either that or someone has convinced them that walking away would be worse than never ending and ever increasing debt... Be honest, if someone owed you a large sum of money, wouldn't you try to convince them not to go bust? Given that a huge part of Greece's economy is tourism, I would question the need for them to be in the single market as they would have to sell an awful lot of olives to pay off that debt... Greece has already tried to get some of their debt written off but the Troika has flatly refused.. so it seems that the Greek tragedy will continue for some time.
