Human rights are there to defend all people against unjust treatment from individuals, companies or government. Even if a person is 'bad' it doesn't mean they don't have rights.

As far as the ECHR is concerned, the (potentially) bad people are the individual governments.
The bad people that you refer to are subject to the domestic courts and laws.

Either everyone has rights or no one does. Because if they aren't universal then they can be taken away and whoever the dominant ruling party wants can have their rights stripped away.

So they must apply even to the worst in society, so that they wont be eroded to the point where they no longer protect you.

It would be entirely possible to leave and keep all the good bits. At the end of the day we have a human rights act and a judicial system that doesn't fear p**ing off government

Considering this right wing populist govt is constantly stretching its powers and reducing parliaments and the courts ability to scrutinise the executive, the British public should not and cannot trust them to erode our freedoms.
