Has anyone heard of mobile phones blowing up  . Last night i had mine on charge and when i went to bed the room was full of smoke, looked at the obvious (sockets etc) then seen a blob of metal in the middle of the carpet burnt right down to the floorboards, didn't know what it was then seen my phone and the scorch mark on the bedside table. The battery had swollen up and exploded out of the phone and into the carpet. A warning to all. What should be my next course of action :?:

I remember seeing something on the telly about exploding batteries a few years ago now - think they were Nokia batteries.

Contact the manufacturer of the phone, they may have had a recall on that model, then contact your insurance company

lol ... you infidel!

You must have signed up to the Suicide deal from Al-Quada Telecoms - 300 free minutes, 500 free texts, 1gb free data, and 1 free explosion.

No cash-back with this plan though, for obvious reasons

The Israeli secret service have used them to assasinate palestinian terrorists.

It's Nokia's latest model, explodes when some scroat steals it!
someone must have dialed the self destruct number.
;)

More common than you think.

Sony did a massive recall the other year of laptops, something approaching the order of hundreds of millions IIRC

Lithium batteries are very unstable, they have about 5 safety devices just to make them safe enough to handle, in the US you can't take pro video recording equipment on aircraft if it has lithium batteries, cos generally they're over the regulation maximum size allowed by airline safety regs!

Talk to anyone in shipping about lithium to find out just how dodgy the stuff is.
