Faded worn road markings and cats eyes.

There are some amazing roads in the EU - they look almost unused in places.

is it some EU directive about not being allowed to use a certain paint.

No.

Have you noticed the poor state of our roads, full of potholes? The concrete roofs of our schools collapsing?

Our run down hospitals? Our closed libraries?

Do you know what Public Spending is?

There's a rural junction locally that had solar LED road studs (catseyes) installed, a good few years ago.
Amazingly, most of them are still working, atleast 95% I would say.

They come on at dusk and I've seen them running well into the small hours. If you walk or cycle past the place really late at night when there's no traffic it's quite amazing, lit up in front of you like a runway!
I would rather have that than street lights.

Try and keep on topic - deflection - I think you would say.

I have seen the led ones that come on with your headlight but they were in a hard bend black and white chevron board and run along pointing - thought I was seeing things.

Back on topic, for some reason paint on the road these days is not lasting and is being worn away quite quickly. I know a big roundabout interchange only completed last year and the markings are half worn off already.

Others have said that the reason is poor maintenance due to lack of funds.

You said they are going off-topic.

But you yourself blame poor quality materials, saying it is because they are saving money.

Surely you are agreeing with them?

"Big roundabout interchange" suggests much traffic. That might be the reason why the markings wear quickly?

There's clearly a choice of different materials (at different prices!) They last year re done the markings on trunks roads locally, the new ones are textured for extra pleasure - like mini rumble strips

These ones have done well, it's a closed road that was bypassed in the early 80s, so the paint must be 40+ years old

You mean disagreeing with an RWR anti-EU version of events and actually telling the truth, is off topic?

Don't be a dick all the time, Mottie.

The Con's on here baulk at the idea of spending money for the public gain, as is evident at the state of our roads.

I am saying they didn't wear like that a few years ago. Maybe its cheap paint - maybe its a new type of road surface - causes the paint to come off easy -maybe its heavy EVs. I dont know but something has changed.
